77th Cannes Film Festival Line-up

In what is shaping up to be another staked year, the 77th Cannes Film Festival is the first major event of the 2024 award season. Iconic filmmakers that have been announced as part of this years line-up include: Francis Ford Coppola, Yorgos Lanthimos, George Miller, David Cronenberg, Kevin Costner, Paul Schrader, Sean Baker, Leo Carax and many more from the international movie scene.

Recent years have seen an increasing correlation between Cannes and the Academy Awards, with three of the last four Palme d’Or winners (“Parasite”, “Triangle of Sadness” and “Anatomy of a Fall”) all going on to receive Best Picture nominations, with the former famously winning the award back in 2020.
