To celebrate the release of Alex Garland’s ‘Civil War’, the biggest A24 movie to date, I have decided to rank the 70 feature-length movies distributed by the masterful independent production company that I have seen to date. A24 offer a lot of creative freedom to their directors, resulting in a very strong output of theatrical releases, making it a very difficult separate so many beautiful pieces of filmmaking . With the exception of the first two or three movies placed on the list, I consider all of these movies to be solid at the very least, ranging all the way up to sensational.
A24 have found a great deal of success with critics and audiences in their relatively short history and have gone on to win multiple Academy Awards, with their 2022 film ‘Everything Everywhere All At Once’ winning seven Oscars including Best Picture.
